The DerbyWheel website’s [Calendar](https://www.derbywheel.com/derbywheel-race-schedule) still shows the intention of hosting its three-day dry-run at the Welsh track; but no date is offered, having previously announced and missed multiple dates in the past year. With details of public cycling sessions until the end of December now loaded into the Newport arena’s booking system, there are no weekends with Friday, Saturday and Sunday all clear. The Geraint Thomas National Velodrome has also announced youth race nights on alternate Fridays through November and December, as well as hosting a round of British Cycling’s National Sprinters League on Saturday 16 November. Plans can change, of course – but it’s clear that no track time is currently being held back for DerbyWheel. The elite racing calendar also picks up in the coming weeks, with the [Track World Championships in Ballerup](https://trackcyclingworlds2024.com) followed by events in London (3 Day), Copenhagen (3), Ghent (6) and Geneva (4). The UCI calendar also features a number of national and regional championships, before the [Track Champions League](https://www.ucitrackchampionsleague.com) begins in Paris on 23 November. December looks busy as usual, with Rotterdam Six Day, an endurance-focused C2s in Aigle and Anadia, and the annual Track Cycling Challenge (C1) at Grenchen, plus the Frankfurter Kreisel sprint cup (C2) in the days before Christmas. Cairo will host the Arab Track Championships; and riders in the southern hemisphere can look forward to the APL New Zealand Grand Prix (C2) at Cambridge, and the Melbourne Austral (C1).
