Racing at London’s Lee Valley velodrome was [halted](https://globalkeirin.com/2024/12/keirin-crash-brings-track-champions-league-finale-to-a-shocking-end/) following the crash which saw **Katy Marchant** and **Alessa-Catriona Pröpster** leave the track, over the top of the new perspex safety screens. Only the women’s endurance league had been completed, with **Katie Archibald** winning her third title in the event’s four-year history. **Alina Lysenko** had an unassailable lead in the women’s sprint competition; whilst on the men’s side, **Dylan Bibic** and **Harrie Lavreysen** both held 20 point leads, with a maximum 20 points still available, almost guaranteeing them the titles (but not quite). The inevitable cancellation was confirmed on Wednesday, with the UCI declaring that the standings in the three unfinished events were ‘now considered final based on the points at the time of cancellation, as agreed by the UCI Commissaires’ panel.’ It means the winners will be denied the cheers of a sellout London crowd as they collect their trophies; and the media will miss out on the now-traditional ‘family photograph’ imagery, with all the riders gathering at track centre.
