DJ Hyun, President of DerbyWheel Incorporated, has been added as a Director of its UK-based company, DerbyWheel Player Limited, alongside DerbyWheel CEO James Pope.
The appointment of Hyun as a Director was filed electronically on May 12, with the change reportedly made on May 9. The templated statement indicates only that ‘the person named has consented to act as a director’.
Hyun was already listed as a designated ‘person with significant control’ of DerbyWheel Player Ltd, holding between 50 and 75% of the company’s shares and voting rights, including the right to appoint or remove directors.
The UK company added DerbyWheel Incorporated as a ‘person with significant control’ soon after its incorporation in April 2023, but this was transferred to Hyun personally later in the year.
Koru Sports Group, James Pope’s operating company, is also listed as a ‘person with significant control’, holding between 25 and 50% of shares and voting rights. The registered office address for DerbyWheel Player Ltd is still the same as for Pope’s Koru Sports Group.
Such changes can be made for all kinds of legal or accounting purposes, so it’s unwise to infer too much from what could simply be a formality.
But it is now 400 days since the last news article on derbywheel.com. The Calendar page continues to state that ‘regular’ racing will happen ‘every 2 weeks from the 1st half of 2025’: the first half of 2025 expires in just 6 weeks, with no race event announced.
