Corporate filing confirms Pope’s exit as director

An update to the UK company records for DerbyWheel Player Ltd confirms that CEO James Pope is severing ties with the project, as reported by Global Keirin a few weeks ago.

Pope’s resignation as a director of the company was notified to Companies House, the UK’s corporate register on 23 July.

The submission consists only of a simple statement of fact: no further context is given.

It leaves DJ Hyun as DerbyWheel Player Ltd’s sole director, having been added in May 2025. It seems fair to assume that this step was taken in preparation for Pope’s departure.

Other company details, with seemingly direct links to Pope personally, have yet to be amended.

Pope had added an exit date of May 2025 to his personal LinkedIn profile; but he has yet to make any public comment on his departure.

Nor has there been any announcement on the DerbyWheel website: Global Keirin’s tracker shows it has now been 467 days since the last news article, and Pope is still listed on the website as the company’s CEO.
