Germany’s Clara Schneider and Alessa-Catriona Pröpster claimed quarter final places at the second attempt, following the first round repechages at the Track World Championships in Ballerup.
Pröpster DNF’ed her earlier heat – we believe as a result of a crash – but bounced back to take the win over Italy’s Miriam Vece by just 14 thousands of a second. Schneider’s margin of victory over China’s Wang was a relatively comfortable 46 thousands.
Malaysia’s Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri was a comfortable winner in her heat, but her teammate Anis Amira Rosidi could only look on as Clonan and van der Peet battled for the win, the Australian taking it by just 18 thousands.
There will be 3 quarter finals with 6 riders in each: you need to be in the first four to make the semis. Fifth and sixth can pack their bags: there are no more repechages.
