Victories for Harrie Lavreysen and Mathilde Gros completed a perfect set of results for the international guest riders in the latest Keirin World Series event, which took place from Monday to Wednesday at Kishiwada.

The four foreign riders all won their respective races on days one and two, securing places in Wednesday’s main finals.

In the women’s race, it was Mathilde Gros 6 who took the win with a late charge, just ahead of Hetty van de Wouw 3 finishing fast on her outside.

Lavreysen 1‘s unbeaten streak continued in the men’s final: he held on for the win, just ahead of Joe Truman 6. The British rider followed the Dutch star to the front, and threatened to pip him at the finish line, but Lavreysen took it by a wheel – making it six wins out of six rides.

The next Keirin World Series event takes place at Tachikawa this time next week, again Monday to Wednesday, and should offer some especially juicy contests: Mina Sato – unbeaten domestically in more than a year – is expected to compete against Gros and van de Wouw, whilst the men’s event will feature world sprinting’s two biggest stars, Lavreysen and Matthew Richardson.
